Brantlee Underhill sits down with New York Times bestselling author and social influencer, Luvvie Ajayi Jones, to discuss how Luvvie has turned her ideas into reality throughout her career and her five steps for achieving success.

Ideas can stem from anywhere and anyone, but what matters are the steps taken to turn one idea into something more impactful—making it reality. At PMI, projects are how we turn ideas into reality and changemakers are the ones who enact change and transformation efforts to get things done.

Taking a deeper look at how changemakers are making their ideas a reality, I sat down with two-time New York Times bestselling author, podcaster, and sought-after speaker Luvvie Ajayi Jones. Having taken her hobby and turned it into a global business, Luvvie understands that it doesn’t matter how many great ideas you have if you can’t execute, and that projects are the way to achieve your goals.

During our conversation, Luvvie also touched on the power skills, such as empathy and communication, that have helped her excel throughout her career and especially as she launched a new book during the pandemic. She also offered her five tips for making your own ideas a reality:

  1. Know your “why” and the purpose of the thing that you want to do.
  2. Create a plan and an outline that you can follow.
  3. Assign an owner to each task in your plan to help with execution.
  4. Create deadlines for each task to stay on schedule.
  5. Execute your plan.
