Corrected spatial design/building defects and supervised Re-construction and Landscaping.
Applied sustainability concepts to realize the benefits of combating desertification with housing. It included design to reduce building footprint, reuse materials, and harvest rainwater for soft landscaping, demarcation of building lot boundaries with a file of trees in anti-desertification.

Head of Real Estate, Savannah Agriculture Research Institute (SARI) 1985 - 2006

(SARI is an Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research of the Ghana Government)

Managed the Estate Department and resources to renovate, maintain, and added new constructions to over 400 building units (at the SARI headquarters and three sub-stations or campuses)

Staff residences; Guest houses; Offices, Library, Cafeteria, Laboratories; Spare parts and general stores; Fuel and Electricity generator stations, Water processing stations; Seed stores; Technical work-shops complex and a Conference complex, and Various customized spaces.
Did material acquisition, for -make- Procurement with my crew, and supervised contracts.
Proposed renovations, worked with major contractors to ensure quality by site inspections, recommendation of corrections, and reported for milestone approval or retention of funds.
Recruited and trained staff to achieve higher skills, did work processes improvement, and built equipment capacity, towards higher productivity for internal commercialization.
40 hours per week | Annual value of projects $16,000,000 to $38,000,000.

Doubled as Design consultant: Artist for Technology Transfer, Communication Design, and Spatial Design: Led Scientific research to apply Art in Action research to endow scientific research findings with technological capacity: Worked with sociologists and end-users to apply/benefit from the findings

Drove change | Led people | Obtained results | Reduced costs | Built partnerships 1994 onwards

The transformation of Savanna Agricultural Research Institute from a substation to an Institute of International Status required housing and various workspaces. The Departments of SARI had to implement Government policy to endow research findings with technological capacity, and next, implement internal commercialization for self-funding amidst dwindling Government funding.

I designed a corporate identity that reflected cultures of the region and the official mandate of SARI. Designed for a befitting estate development, reformed work structure for worker's capacity-building; led customized 'make' procurements; saved costs; raised funds internally.
Designed customized buildings and spaces for special work and managed their construction. Supervised contracts; made milestone reports for reimbursements to control quality and cost.

Private Consultancy: Technology transfer, Collaboration, Supra-regional Impact 1993 - 2005

Art and Design Consultant to a Scientific and Social research project of the Supra-Regional Weed Control program conducted by the German federal cooperation for international enterprise Gesellschaft f??r Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), with the University of Hohenheim in Germany, and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ghana. My design input helped to develop an effective solution to the over 60 years of ongoing research to solve the Striga witchweed problem of West Africa.

Collaborated with foreign student researchers, local researchers and sociologists to address gender issues, and tribal adaptations. Stakeholders used my work in over ten publications.
Did innovative communication design, illustrating for research inquiry to transcend language barriers: Used iterative illustration to solicit and integrate local and scientific technologies.
Illustrated for communication and fine-tuning of findings for user application.
Adapted the technology to different cultural and traditional practices using related cultural iconography to design implementation manuals and testing their suitability and efficiency.
Produced training kits for transferring the technology to end users.

Estimated cumulative cost of hotel construction; research and dissemination: $53,000,000.

Internal Consultancy: Architectural Solution; Regional Post-Harvest Security 2000 - 2002

Having established a track record of winning results, I was awarded a project to develop a prototype

hybrid barn from samples in West Africa for a program of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA). It required good design and stringent financial management to be affordable.

I designed and led procurement of a prototype that has a rodent control strip, works by stack-effect ventilation, with roofing materials chosen by design to conduct heat for air drying of seeds and produce. The IITA inspectorate judged it the best in the West Africa sub-Region.
Saved 30% of the estimated cost to prove affordability without compromising of quality, size and functional efficiency.
This and other constructions and procurements were unique for cost savings, material economy, high quality, and successful performance.
The network grew in diversity; I was consulted to update various research literature with illustrations, for the Animal Research Institute, Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and SARI- Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Horticulture projects. In the private sector Rotary Club projects, Catholic Relief Services and Techno-Serve used my products and services in rural development projects and agriculture.
